I had surgery at a virtua hospital

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

noneI had a good experience with my surgical procedure. The nurses were the best!!!

My only issue is with the after. Someone did try to call me the day after surgery - but only once.

I did not answer the phone because I was sleeping which I believe most would be doing within 24 hours of surgery. The really could try to call more than once to check up on the patient.

Poor Patient Care

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I had an appointment with my family doctor in Hammonton, NJ, on 9/16/24. She did not fill my medications, so I'm using expired ones.

I didn't realize it until later on. I believe she became somewhat flustered because I told her that my other Virtua doctor expressed concern about a medication that I'm taking.

I received a flu vaccine and have been sick ever since. I will be looking for a different doctor.

Not very comforting

I went to Virtua Health and Wellness in Cherry Hill, NJ on 09/05/2024 for an MRI of the breast.

Sue was not very comforting. I don't know if she was having a bad day or what, but her demeanor was as if I was bothering her. I was very nervous having this test done and she did not make me feel any better.

If I need to have this test again, I certainly will not be going back to this location.

This organization has the most unfriendly and overall *** system to try to make an appointment for ANY and all services, especially radiology.

To management - Just try to make an appointment with radiology. If you want to have a call center for appointments then man it appropriately so patients can get through. Your system makes me never want to be treated by your doctors.

Surgery

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My surgical experience at Virtua Surgery Center was fine. However, my surgeon acted annoyed and frustrated when I was not progressing according to his plan.

I continued to have back pain and was unable to perform the duties required in my nursing job. After 90 days ( I did many weeks of PT and was no longer on narcotics etc ) he told me to see my PCP and his office refused to complete my disability forms. My PCP is furious.

I am still in PT and seeing chiropractor but my disability is being denied bc his office told me I dont need to come back . Very frustrating and no income and still in pain.

Horrible Service -Long Wait Time

Was referred by Virtua Orthopedic Express to Virtua Radiology for MRI. I called to make the appointment and was on hold for so long I drove 20 minutes out of my way to the facility.

I only wanted to make an appointment. (BYW I was still on hold) When I arrived, security advised they do not make in-person appointments and I would need to call. When I shared I was currently on hold, and had been holding for the last 30 minutes, he said thats nothing, some people wait way longer than that.

As of right now Im about to hit 60 minutes! I only want to schedule an appointment.

And because the referring office told me I had to select a facility before I left my appointment, I cant change the imaging facility on my pre-approval request.

The word Virtua means in essence is not there.

They sure named this business correct because no one seems to be there!! Just horrible.

3 days trying to get a cat scan done

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I've called several times, went through the prompts, for several days to not even get an answer. So, I drive there, park a quarter mile away, go to radiology and wait 10-15 mins only to be told they can't make me an appointment.

Something is definitely wrong with your setup.

Top management should call the number and see what I went through. Still, I have no appointment.

Radiology in the worst in the area

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My family member and I came here for imaging, and it was the worst experience we've ever had. The manager, Pier, was a rude, condescending, and disrespectful woman who should be fired.

Her boss too should be reprimanded for his role in the situation. Everything was wrong on Radiology's end, from the scripts to the rude older woman, Irene, at the front desk, to the ignorant lady, Susan, who conducted the test. The appointments were overbooked and rushed, with times being inconsistent and incorrect. The number of times we got stuck, despite us both having good veins, is awful.

We didn't mention that we work in medicine, so we know how incorrect all of them truly were. My mother needed surgery, and this setback hurt her, with none of the managers and staff showing any care. The staff walked around miserable and complained the entire time about how they hated their job, claiming they were overbooked. The managers are clearly horrible people, and don't care about patients or the staff.

Stay far away from this place. Years ago, this place killed my grandmother by taking her off a medication that was a blood thinner, which she needed to stay alive.

Staff at the LAB

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

On Monday, June 10, 2024, I arrived at the Lab late and Registration was just about to close for the day. Joanne T.

from Registration was very helpful in speaking with Rola - LAB if she would see me. Rola agreed to see me, and Joanne T got me registered. Joanne was very nice and had a good attitude. ROLA - LAB reviewed what blood needed to be drawn and patiently reviewed the doctor's Script and took my blood.

It was time for Rola to leave for the day, but ROLA stayed and took my blood. She had to take 12 tubes of blood, which took some time.

Thank you ROLA and Joanne T for providing excellent customer service and care!! You care was greatly appreciated.

ELDER ABUSE @ VIRTUA VOORHEES HOSPITAL

Virtua Hospital - ELDER ABUSE @ VIRTUA VOORHEES HOSPITAL
Virtua Hospital - ELDER ABUSE @ VIRTUA VOORHEES HOSPITAL - Image 2

My mother is a patient @ Virtua Voorhees Hospital currently. Nurses leave her in "soiled" bedding ( my daughters came to visit and cleaned their grandmother and her bedding by THEMSELVES).

During their visits to her I am on the phone and I have heard the tone her caregivers speak to her - uncompassionate, blunt, and "rushed". My mother was physically restrained for trying to go to the bathroom AFTER trying multiple tries to call for help with the nurse bell. My mother weighs 108 lbs and THREE nurses held her down and put restraints on her, then later bringing her meals to her "just out of reach" of her restrained hands.

ABSOLUTELY UNNECESSARY. WHERE IS THE COMPASSION?

I am scheduled for surgery in a few days; and, I'm terrified. I have been having nightmares.

I'm an elder as well; and, do not fear many things; but, I have had tremendous apprehension about being at the total mercy of these type of cruel decisions that can occur at an uncaring medical facility. The type of surgary I am having will create the need for their assistance, particularly with the bathroom. I am seriously considering canceling surgery; and, finding a more compassionate hospital.

I hope your mom is okay now. What happened to your mom was so unnecessary and traumatic.

I was interred in this chamber of horrors this passed week. After a 5 hour wait, they admitted me to a room on the 7th floor.

Because of how my health questions were answered during admittance, I was not alliwed out of bed. I had to ring for a nurse to use the bathroom.

I have a weak prostate so my needs here cannot be made to wait. So I took it upon myself to get out of bed. Thats when the prison-like alarms went off. I asked why I was not allowed out of bed, they told me my wife toid them about an incident recently where I lost my balance and fell.

Therefore I was confined to bed. I demanded that I be released after I could not reach my wife. They would do nothing more until my wife replied. So I tried leaving on my own.

I was chased down the hall down the stars and finally tackled by 4 of the nurses and returned to my room. Later I had to urinate again, got to to go the 4 ft to the bathroom, the alarms started again. My IV TABLE got caught in the bathroom door when I closed it and shattered. The next thing I knew, I was confronted with 4 large security guards.

They tried to be nice and asked me what I wanted. I repeated, let me outta here. FINALLY I was allowed to leave under my own power. I got the third degree from nurse WRACHET.

She said if I leave like this, I would probably drop dead outside. I said I would rather be dead than spend another minute in this this den of nazies.

Glad you left Virtua in Voorhees doctors to slow to make medical diagnosis, therefore the patient suffers and not given the proper treatment if the doctors were on their toes and seen the symptoms and signs, they would be fast at it, read the proper test results and respond to the patients quickly when it’s a medical emergency would not recommend going there at all

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Unprofessional Conduct and Lack of Empathy

Dear Mr. Mahon,

I hope this letter finds you well.

I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning incident that occurred during my recent visit to the emergency room on November 13, 2023, at Virtua Hospital on Sunset Road in Willingboro, NJ. I was seeking medical assistance due to complications arising from a positive COVID-19 diagnosis, exacerbating the pain from a recent work-related back injury.

Upon arriving at the emergency room, I was attended to by Physician Assistant Avi D Locker. Regrettably, the encounter was far from satisfactory and left me deeply disturbed. Despite providing documentation of my ongoing medical situation, including an upcoming appointment with a spinal surgeon, Mr.

Locker demonstrated unprofessional conduct and a startling lack of empathy.

Mr. Locker's dismissive attitude and mockery during our interaction were not only unbecoming of a healthcare professional but also contributed to a distressing experience during an already challenging time. I had previously sought medical attention for my back injury, and the prescribed pain relief was inadequate. As suggested by the previous healthcare provider, I visited the emergency room seeking temporary relief until my specialist appointment.

During the encounter, Mr.

Locker callously stated, "I reserve pain medicine for special circumstances," and proceeded to mock my situation as if it were unworthy of attention. When I attempted to escalate the matter by requesting to speak with his superior, he evaded the request, further intensifying my frustration.

I am writing this formal complaint with the expectation that a thorough investigation will be conducted into the conduct of Mr.

Locker, and appropriate measures taken to prevent such incidents in the future. No patient should endure disrespect, mockery, or unprofessional behavior while seeking medical assistance.

I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and anticipate a resolution that upholds the standards of compassionate and professional healthcare.

Sincerely,

Kassim Bernard

Horrible Hospital

This hospital is the worst hospital in South Jersey! They dont care about your well being.

They ignore patient call bells. They make fun of their patients. Theyre racist, especially in the pediatric ER. The staff also violates HIPPA on a daily basis.

And NEVER have a baby at Virtua Voorhees. Fetal demises are on the rise at this hospital.
