Horrible Hospital

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
This hospital is the worst hospital in South Jersey! They dont care about your well being. They ignore patient call bells. They make fun of their patients. Theyre racist, especially in the pediatric ER. The staff also violates HIPPA on a daily basis. And NEVER have a baby at Virtua Voorhees. Fetal demises are on the rise at this hospital.

Virtua Hospital - I'm satisfied.
I'm what is known as a Hard Stick! When getting Blood drawn, my Veins are tiny, and my Veins Run and play 'Peak-Boo. Usually it required more than 2 Sticks! Yep! Band-aids where the Sticks were unsuccessful. I used to go to "LABS". Now I go to Virtua Willingboro Hospital! My doctor gets the report the SAME DAY! PLUS 1 STICK IS ALL IT TAKES! Usually. Rola is the Lab Tech and she's proof that it doesn't have to hurt to get Blood drawn! I'm a Heart Transplant Patient, 2 years in and, am required to get draws weekly. Thank you ROLA!

My actions

I would like to apologize to the nurses and staff in the ER. Because of my outbursts. I was blinded by pain which was out of control. Also to the nurses especially Helen third floor. I had too much morphine made me hallucinate and lose it. I want to make sure when I come back. Again I am undergoing anger control. I will show you the real Bruce

Horrible ER Experience

Went with family member to ER with a list of concerns,& blood pressure of 201/91 and after four hours (family member took own medication after hours of nothing) of only test and limited monitoring The nurse finally came and discharge family member and it was on then that medication for blood pressure was provided. ER doc didn't even come in to report status of results till discharge nurse and family member requested. ER doc had to read discharge notes to even remember patients issue. THE ER Doc bedside manner was horrible, he spoke over patient and wanted to focus on one of the concerns that brought the patient in. Doc should listen and hear the pains/concerns patients have as they all relevant!

It doesn’t sound like there was an emergency. It sounds like an office visit. Go see your primary care doctor.

ELDER ABUSE @ VIRTUA VOORHEES HOSPITAL

My mother is a patient @ Virtua Voorhees Hospital currently. Nurses leave her in "soiled" bedding ( my daughters came to visit and cleaned their grandmother and her bedding by THEMSELVES). During their visits to her I am on the phone and I have heard the tone her caregivers speak to her - uncompassionate, blunt, and "rushed". My mother was physically restrained for trying to go to the bathroom AFTER trying multiple tries to call for help with the nurse bell. My mother weighs 108 lbs and THREE nurses held her down and put restraints on her, then later bringing her meals to her "just out of reach" of her restrained hands. ABSOLUTELY UNNECESSARY. WHERE IS THE COMPASSION?

I am scheduled for surgery in a few days; and, I'm terrified. I have been having nightmares.

I'm an elder as well; and, do not fear many things; but, I have had tremendous apprehension about being at the total mercy of these type of cruel decisions that can occur at an uncaring medical facility. The type of surgary I am having will create the need for their assistance, particularly with the bathroom. I am seriously considering canceling surgery; and, finding a more compassionate hospital.

I hope your mom is okay now. What happened to your mom was so unnecessary and traumatic.

Billing practices are sub standard. Mad several monthly payment but was sent to collections because my several monthly payments per month were not an authorized payment plan... Worst billing practices of any healthcare provider I ever used. Care during admission was hit or miss. Poor communications between staff and no communication with patient.

Kassim Bernard 49 Sylvan Lane Willingboro, NJ 08046 iamkassimbernard@***.com 856-336-**** November 13, 2023 Brendan Mahon Virtua Hospital Sunset Road Willingboro, NJ 08046 Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Unprofessional Conduct and Lack of Empathy Dear Mr. Mahon, I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning incident that occurred during my recent visit to the emergency room on November 13, 2023, at Virtua Hospital on Sunset Road in Willingboro, NJ. I was seeking medical assistance due to complications arising from a positive COVID-19 diagnosis, exacerbating the pain from a recent work-related back injury. Upon arriving at the emergency room, I was attended to by Physician Assistant Avi D Locker. Regrettably, the encounter was far from satisfactory and left me deeply disturbed. Despite providing documentation of my ongoing medical situation, including an upcoming appointment with a spinal surgeon, Mr. Locker demonstrated unprofessional conduct and a startling lack of empathy. Mr. Locker's dismissive attitude and mockery during our interaction were not only unbecoming of a healthcare professional but also contributed to a distressing experience during an already challenging time. I had previously sought medical attention for my back injury, and the prescribed pain relief was inadequate. As suggested by the previous healthcare provider, I visited the emergency room seeking temporary relief until my specialist appointment. During the encounter, Mr. Locker callously stated, "I reserve pain medicine for special circumstances," and proceeded to mock my situation as if it were unworthy of attention. When I attempted to escalate the matter by requesting to speak with his superior, he evaded the request, further intensifying my frustration. I am writing this formal complaint with the expectation that a thorough investigation will be conducted into the conduct of Mr. Locker, and appropriate measures taken to prevent such incidents in the future. No patient should endure disrespect, mockery, or unprofessional behavior while seeking medical assistance. I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and anticipate a resolution that upholds the standards of compassionate and professional healthcare. Sincerely, Kassim Bernard 609-638-**** > NO RESPONSE FROM VIRTUA.

Virtua call center and my chart feedback

I am so beyond dissatisfied with the way the message center when you call or leave a message in my chart. Asking a question to my doctor took a week before someone even got back to me . Before allied gastro was bought by Virtua they would return my phone call the same day or next with an answer. I wanted feedback to make sure my gastro doc was on the same page with my RA doc in regards with a new medicine . A couple months passed and still no one got back to me with a response. I then called to schedule my sigmoidoscopy and when scheduling that the person on the phone had the nerve to say the doctor has been making her rounds for three weeks. I said I asked this question 2 months ago. Person on phone had a major attitude. Also back in the spring Virtua had called to schedule my sigmoidoscopy . Well I missed the call bec I was at work and couldnt answer my cell immediately. I called back and wanted my sig for the summer which Dr. Valasco said was fine during a previous appt and then scheduler Stephanie that that calendar was not out yet. She then told me she was going to place me on a list to call me back as soon as calendar opened up. Time went by and was getting extremely close to summer and so I messaged my chart . Once again it took some time for them to get back to me and then when they finally did there were no procedures available to late July. So that Stephanie person was just a let down and incompetent. Now I got back from vacation and messaged my chart for the nurse to tell me my test results cause they were ready. I initially asked for them to call me. But I only to got a my chart message stating results and further directions from the doctor moving forward. I responded to the my chart message with another question relating to the answered questions and 3 days later have yet to have my follow up question answered . I have messaged them a second time yesterday. Nothing yet. Virtua needs to Fox their incompetence with their phone and message center .

Hospital doesn’t care

Original review Dec 09, 2022
Suffered emotional trauma from nurse and Dr. also ended up with two broken teeth. This hospital simply doesnt care. They know what a person has to do to file medical malpractice so they allow poor treatment of patients. I think Id get better care in a third world country than the care I received. Im absolutely disgusted with what happened to me.

Emergency visit and surgery

Had my 90 year old dad go in on the request of a doctor. My dad got there and nothing ever happened. He said there for 3 1/2 hours and of course when you call about it, they have excuse after excuse after excuse. Had surgery there it was horrible. Theyre supposed to stabilize you in the recovery room. Well that didnt happen. They rushed me up to my room screaming in pain. A patient actually came out of the room while I was on the gurney asking me if I was OK. The worst experience Ive ever had in a hospital.(virtua Vorhees)

Poor pt. Care unnecessary hospital stays and excessive force by security

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Wife was admitted for hand surgery do to on going issues. Last surgery was a planned out pt. This one was unplanned but did surgery in hospital. They did had surgery found only scar tissue no obvious signs of infection. The next day ask dr. To be released because they are not doing anything special there that cant be done at home. ID doctor agreed that as long as surgical doctor was ok she could go home. Then came the primary hospital assigned doctor. Who tried to change long term meds for unacceptable reasons. Who then said she should stay and kept making different reason ( she is sleepy is one of the ridiculous reason. Another was a fever over 12 hours ago which the ID doctor called post surgical fever. (Nothing to worry about) but she just made excuse after excuse. Then 5 hours later the nurse came said that she is staying. But didnt know why. Then the primary who doesnt fill out charts in a timely matter and refuses to meet bed side called her personal phone. She could keep her stories straight while surging with her over the phone about her poor pt care and poor medical record keeping she called security. Securty came to the room. With a two charge nurses. We explained poor pt care to them and ask that the officers set outside while we discussed medical information. Charged nurse was having ID doctor come to beside you see about options and reasons and she stepped out to grab meds that were two hours over due. Then the king ding *** self proclaimed security supervisor came storming in. He started getting loud with me for no reason so my wife videoed him he then got in her face for video him. He put hands on her trying to wave the phone away and told me to leave I said I wasnt leaving her with him alone and he said that we both can go then. We were then escorted out of the hospital by two security officers with out medical staff knowing that the pt was being escorted out. I yet to get any return call or email from virtua. Shame on them and their security avoid virtua at all costs

Horrible & incompetent

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Their gastroenterology practice in Willingboro is a disaster. They've scheduled me for a procedure FOUR times, only to call at the last minute and reschedule it. Even when you follow up with them to try to make sure they've got all the paperwork and clearances they need they still can't seem to get anything right. Plus, you can't get a response when you need prescription refills, and the doctor I saw was arrogant, didn't listen, talked over me when I tried to explain my symptoms. The only thing they managed to do was charge my credit card for my copay for a procedure I haven't been able to get done. My next contact is going to be the NJ Department of Health to file a complaint. Stay away from this practice if you can!

I HAD COVID SYMPTOMS AND WANTED TO GET TESTED. I CONTACTED MY VIRTUA PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN AND WAS TOLD SHE CANNOT GIVE ME A SCRIPT. SHE DID NOT EXPLAIN WHY. A COVID19 PCR TEST CAN ONLY BE DONE WHEN YOU HAVE A SCRIPT. SHE REFERRED ME TO VIRTUA URGENT CARE. THIS IS WHY SHE REFUSED TO GIVE ME THE SCRIPT, SO I CAN GO VIRTUA URGENT CARE WAIT 6 TO 8 HOURS AND SPEND $2000.00, IF NOT MORE, FOR THE VISIT. I'm REALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH VIRTUA.

I was admitted to the hospital for low blood oxygen. I was there for two days, i was released and told to follow up with the pulmonary doctor and my primary. I have to wait two months to see the specialist and 3 to 4 weeks for an appointment with my primary. I told them repeatedly i am still not well and that is the best they can do. I am beyond done with Virtua So now i will have to go back in the hospital to get follow up care? The scheduling department was rude and condescending .g condescending co
